Mortal Kombat 1 is off to a great start in its second year. Instead of settling for a classic second Kombat Pass, NetherRealm has opted for a genuine expansion. Khaos Reign will deepen the story of the base game, while expanding the cast with several characters from the moment the DLC arrives. Warner Bros presents a final look at what the expansion will have in store, as well as an exclusive insight of the Fatality of one of cinema’s most notorious killers.
A Bloody Feast
Blood, blood, and more blood – that’s the recipe for this latest trailer, which features a series of bloody executions in fast succession. In addition to showcasing new characters such as Sektor and Cyrax, this launch trailer also gives us a preview of the Animality system, with crocodiles, mammoths, and even a phoenix joining the bloodbath. And for this bonus, there’s no need to pay for the DLC, because it will be available via a free update alongside Towers of Time, a new game mode.
The video ends with a little surprise: we finally get to see Ghostface’s gameplay (from the Scream films) in the game. It’s just his Fatality at the moment, but that’s often the most anticipated element of every character in the game, after all.
Khaos Reigns will be available for Mortal Kombat 1 starting September 24, on PC, PS5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch.
