Monster Hunter Wilds Reveals Its Release Date after a Spectacular Trailer

Monster Hunter Wilds

Despite a rather modest State of Play in terms of announcements, with a few exceptions, we had the pleasure of seeing a new trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds. We knew it would arrive in 2025, but we won’t have to wait much longer, as the release date is actually quite early in the year.

The State of Play was an opportunity to see Monster Hunter Wilds’ fourth trailer. Highly anticipated by the fans, we’re pleased to share the official release date, which has just been announced. The hunt will begin on February 28 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.

To mark the occasion, the trailer introduces this episode’s “flagship” monster: Arkveld. This mysterious monster comes from a long-extinct species. It has unique wings resembling chains. Arkveld is at the heart of the dramatic events behind the game’s story and the foundation of the Forbidden Lands Research Commission.

We also spotted other new monsters, such as the Uth Duna, which evolves in the Scarlet Forest, a zone that alternates between three phases: Aridity, Storm, and Prosperity. During Aridity, the red rivers that give the forest its name flow through dense vegetation. During Storms, heavy rains reduce visibility, causing violent flooding and strong currents. Once the storm has passed, the Prosperity phase reveals a vibrant ecosystem, where monsters, plants, and creeks reflect the clear blue sky.

During this period, hunters can relax by fishing or exploring the waters on their Seikret mounts or using Wedge Beetles to reach new areas. They may even encounter the Lynian tribe of Wudwuds, who have adapted their lifestyle to the changing conditions of the forest.

The ultimate predator of the region, Uth Duna hides under a water veil thanks to the secretions of its body. The other new monster unveiled briefly is the Quematrice, a Brute Wyvern. Located on the Windy Plains, the Quematrice sprays a substance that ignites from the sparks created by rubbing its tail on the ground.

The game is already available for pre-order, with three different editions:
