Since the first Marvel’s Spider-Man had its own DLC trilogy, we expected Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 to take the same route. Given that the title opens a few interesting doors to additional content through some of its side quests. But there are no such plans, with Insomniac Games preferring to concentrate on other priorities, such as a PC version of the game.

An Early Port
Like almost all PlayStation games PC ports, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is coming to PC thanks to Nixxes. We didn’t expect this version to arrive so soon, but PlayStation is now keen to reduce the release window between its PS5 exclusives and PC ports. Therefore, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be available on PC starting January 30, 2025.
This was confirmed last night, and while we’ll have to wait a little longer to find out the various technical specifications of this port, we’ve already got our first glimpse of it with a new trailer. The game will be available in its standard edition on Steam and Epic Games Store with all updates already available on PS5, and a Deluxe digital edition will contain :
- The complete game with updates listed above
- 5 exclusive suits for Peter Parker
- 5 exclusive suits for Miles Morales
- Early unlock for the Arachknight Suit (Peter)
- Early unlock for the Shadow-Spider Suit (Miles)
- Early unlock for the Web Grabber gadget
- +5 skill points
- Additional Photo Mode items
In addition, we’ve learned that the previously announced Cool and Stylish outfit pack will soon be available for free on PS5, and will also be free for the PC version as soon as it’s released.
Psn Account Required
You’ll have to get used to it by now, because Sony seems determined not to back down, so you’ll definitely need a PlayStation Network account to play this PC version of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. This has been confirmed by Steam’s page for the game, which displays it directly before the port’s release date, just so everyone knows.
It’s enough to revive the debate around this necessity, which mainly affects those who live in countries where the PlayStation Network is not supported, preventing the game from being marketed in these regions.
No Story DLC Planned
And after this PC port, don’t expect any additional story content for the game. There will be no major DLC for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Aaron Jason Espinoza, senior community manager at Insomniac Games, made the announcement via a post on the PlayStation Blog:
” While we have no additional story content planned for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, we’re delighted to bring all of our previously released post-launch content to the PC version, including New Game+, new suits and color variants, Photo Mode features, and more. “
After all, the hack suffered by Insomniac Games showed that the studio had many other projects in the pipeline. It would be better to focus on Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 (or something else) than on this second episode, which has already achieved everything it could, or almost.
