With the solid launch of Dragon Age: The Veilguard on Steam, it’s now possible to hope that BioWare will pull itself out of the storm. The studio has been through some difficult years, and is now relying on its two flagship licenses, representing its only pillars for avoiding the worst. Now that the latest Dragon Age installment has been released, all eyes are on the next Mass Effect, already teased by the studio. And the latter now intends to focus all its attention on this crucial project.

Even before the game’s release, BioWare had laid its cards on the table, announcing that no DLC was planned for Dragon Age: The Veilguard. According to Creative Director John Epler, this is still the case today, and we shouldn’t expect any additional content for the RPG, which is quite rare for the studio. This is what he says in an interview with Rolling Stone, while IGN reports that there will be updates for the game, of course, updates that will focus on improving the experience and making it more comfortable, but don’t expect any major additional narrative content.

And that’s mainly because BioWare now wants to focus on Mass Effect. This is reported from the creative director’s interview with Rolling Stone, where it is stated that the studio has now “completely turned its attention to the next Mass Effect”. This means that the Dragon Age: The Veilguard team will now be turning its full attention to the production of this next game, which means that development is likely to move forward a little faster.

November 7 is an important date for Mass Effect fans, as it’s N7 Day ( celebration day for the license), and last year the studio was rather generous in revealing a teaser for the next episode. Now that Dragon Age: The Veilguard is off the road, who knows what the studio might reveal this year…
