Crimson Desert

Crimson Desert reassured us when it returned to Gamescom 2024 after a long absence. Not only were we treated to several boss battles, but also a playable demo, which we were able to try out ourselves. Pearl Abyss’ open world is one of the games we’re most curious about, and we’re delighted to learn that it will be arriving at the end of 2025.

Pearl Abyss took advantage of the Game Awards 2024 to unveil a new trailer for Crimson Desert and announce a release date of late 2025. Given that it’s shaping up to be a busy year, and that it’s quite common for such ambitious games to suffer postponements, this is good news for this highly-anticipated open world.

The trailer gives us a glimpse of some brand-new footage, including more aerial scenes on the back of dragons, and exploration of floating islands. It’s a good chance to recall that Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is an obvious source of inspiration.

Crimson Desert is scheduled for release on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC in late 2025. Let’s hope GTA 6 doesn’t push it back any further.
