We knew that Netmarble and HBO had agreed to collaborate on the development of a game based on the Game of Thrones franchise. At the Game Awards, we finally received an official announcement with a name and a release date. Game of Thrones Kingsroad is probably the best adaptation of the TV series.
You Know Nothing about the Release Date John Snow
Although the main series ended a long time ago, Game of Thrones legacy is still alive and well thanks to its many spin-offs, both in series and videogames. While we should have a Game of Thrones MMO developed by Nexon, Game of Thrones Kingsroad is another ambitious project from Netmarble, the makers of Seven Deadly Sins Grand Cross and Solo Leveling Arise.
Game of Thrones Kingsroad is presented as an open-world action-RPG running under Unreal Engine 5, with an exclusive storyline extending the original one from the TV series. Events are set around season 4 of the HBO series, and it will be possible to play both single and multiplayer, although there are no details yet about how this will work. Several classes will be available: knight, mercenary and assassin. The iconic Westeros locations and characters will be faithfully modeled and dubbed by the original actors, according to the trailer released today.
However, no gameplay footage has yet been revealed, and it’s clear that many fans will be disappointed with the mobile platform for an adaptation of this kind.
Game of Thrones Kingsroad is scheduled for 2025 on iOS and Android only.
