No one doubted that God of War Ragnarok would be one of the best-selling games from PlayStation Studios’ portfolio, but it was still to be confirmed whether its results would match the previous episode, which has now sold over 20 million units. Within a few days of its release, the title could already be proud of having sold 5 million copies, making it the PlayStation game with the best start. A few weeks later, it’s time to take stock again, and this episode still doesn’t disappoint.
On the way to achieving the high scores of the previous episode
God of War Ragnarok now sits at 11 million copies sold worldwide on PS4 and PS5, a truly impressive achievement that continues to make this game the fastest-selling PlayStation exclusive.
The title has probably taken good advantage of the holiday season to inflate this figure, and Santa Monica Studio must now be hoping that it will be nipping at the heels of the 2018 episode in a few months or years. With upcoming promotions, a potential PC port and an Amazon Prime Video series coming up that’s bound to boost sales of the franchise, it’s definitely on track.
