Several months after its last trailer, Killing Floor 3 makes another appearance at the Game Awards. Here, Tripwire’s baby doesn’t come empty-handed, revealing a little more gameplay, a few slight new features, and a future closed beta. The icing on the cake is that we finally know the release date, which is just around the corner.
Zeds and Metal Removal, the Full Package
The long-awaited Killing Floor 3 does tell us a little more about itself. The game takes place over 70 years after the events of the second installment. As always, in this universe set in 2091, you’ll have to wipe out endless hordes of zeds as a Nightfall specialist, a rebel group whose mission is to stop the activities of the mega-corporation Horzine.
To stop these armies of zeds, you’ll have a deadly arsenal at your disposal, with katanas, crossbows, a flamethrower, and various gadgets and skills for your specialists to unlock. In addition to dangerous zones where you can use traps to eliminate zeds more easily, the title offers a more advanced dismemberment system, new enemies, and hand-to-hand executions. This means that co-op play for up to six players will be just as much fun as ever, with some thrilling new metal.
Killing Floor 3 will also soon have a closed beta. Although there’s not much information on this yet, you’ll need to register on the official website to participate, and test the game a little early.
As for its release date, Killing Floor 3 is set for March 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with no further details.
