State of Play was an opportunity for Shift Up to confirm the existence of a partnership that was teased even before the release of Stellar Blade. Since the latter is heavily inspired by NieR Automata, and the studio’s directors are good friends with Yoko Taro, the opportunity was too good not to set up a little crossover.
Well, Paid or Free DLC?
So, a NieR Automata DLC for Stellar Blade is definitely on the way, and it should enable Eve to wear 2B’s iconic outfit, with or without her headband. The trailer presented at State of Play doesn’t show much, and for the moment, Shift Up doesn’t want to reveal any further details.
We do not know whether this DLC will be paid, unlike the other free updates issued since the game’s release. Chances are it will, given that a company other than Shift Up is involved. All we know now is that this collaboration will indeed see the light of day this year.
The same goes for the long-promised Photo mode. It will also arrive in 2024, probably through a free update. In the meantime, please note that the game’s soundtrack will be deployed on streaming services in the coming hours (it’s already on YouTube).
