Go on, pretend to be surprised after reading this headline. Capcom, which owes its excellent financial status largely to recent Resident Evil remakes, will continue to produce Resident Evil remakes. The publisher doesn’t defy logic and had already made strong hints that it was considering working on further remakes when surveying the fans, but now it’s a little more official with the word from Yasuhiro Anpo, Resident Evil 4 Remake director.
No Reason to Stop After All
Anpo was present at the PlayStation Partner Awards in Japan this week, and was interviewed about Resident Evil 4 Remake. When asked if Capcom would continue to produce remakes for the series, he replied:
“Yes, we’ve released three remakes so far and they have all been received very well. Since it allows a modern audience to play these games, it is something I am happy to do as someone that loves these older games, and we want to continue doing more.
“What game we will remake in the future is something that we would like to announce in the future, so please look forward to it.”
IGN
Logically, Resident Evil 5 Remake would seem to be the easy option. However, this episode isn’t the most popular in the saga, and Capcom might move towards spin-offs, such as Code Veronica, an episode that left its mark on the community. So, as you can see, Resident Evil remakes will be coming your way in the future.
