If you follow the news closely, then you probably know that Josef Fares and his studio Hazelight will be taking advantage of the Game Awards ceremony to make their upcoming project official. Split Fiction is the title of this new co-op adventure which seems to be following in the footsteps of It Takes Two judging by the first images.
United We Stand, Divided We Fall
Split Fiction’s story revolves around Mio and Zoé, two young female scriptwriters on their way to the headquarters of a technology company capable of simulating their stories in real life. Following an accident, they both find themselves trapped in the same simulation.
And then, as you’d expect, Mio and Zoé will have to cooperate if they wish to escape. If the trailer is anything to go by, we can expect plenty of action and varied situations, making this title an intentional sequel to It Takes Two.
With 2D and 3D gameplay, chases, slides, transformations, a shooter and a platformer, and much more in between, Split Fiction is sure to keep things exciting and explosive. And by offering environments based alternately on science fiction and fantasy, the settings and ambiance should also charm while being regularly renewed.
Of course, all this is designed to be played exclusively by two people, and the famous Friend Pass allowing someone who doesn’t own the game to play with you for free is still there, this time with cross-platform support. And finally, there’s an official release date, set for March 6, 2025, on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.
