The Tomb Raider license has been selling for the last few years, to the point that a movie was even released in theaters. A second one is also in development, still starring Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft, but its release has been postponed to an undetermined date. However, this will not prevent the beautiful archaeologist from returning to the service in the coming months, since a mobile game has just been announced.

A simple trailer for the announcement

Since the reboot that the series experienced in 2013, simply titled Tomb Raider, the series is more profitable than ever. Two episodes have followed on consoles and PC, and all the signs point to Square Enix being pretty happy with the critical and commercial return. So it’s no surprise to find out this week that a new game is in development. What is a little more surprising is the choice of the medium.

Indeed, Tomb Raider Reloaded is expected to be released exclusively on Android and iOS. And that’s all we know about it, since Square Enix didn’t communicate on the subject. The company has only served us this short trailer above, which simply tells us that this new iteration will have a colorful design. And some would say that it will be a bit prettier than what we were used to in Lara’s previous adventures.

All we know about this opus is that the teams from Square Enix London and Emerald City Games are in charge of it. The latter is a small studio exclusively responsible for mobile games, such as G.I. Joe: War on Cobra or Lionheart Tactics. While waiting to know more, the trailer ends with a large “2021”, which unfortunately does not indicate a precise date to expect this Tomb Raider Reloaded.
