October is a busy month, and it’s likely to bring a few disappointments for titles that don’t benefit from a big marketing campaign. But if there’s one title that’s been pretty much guaranteed not to miss out lately, it’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Even taking the risk of returning to the saga’s old formula, this episode was highly anticipated and the license’s aura is as strong as ever, which is why it is no surprise to learn that the game sold very well in its first week on the market.
Successful Leap of Faith
It’s not easy to compete with the huge numbers of Valhalla, but Mirage seems to have risen to the challenge. Ubisoft doesn’t say how many copies the game sold, but it does say that the number of male and female players is “in line” with the results of Origins and Odyssey, which is quite something.
What’s more, it’s the biggest launch ever for a Ubisoft game on the PS5 and Xbox Series platforms. Which, again, isn’t really surprising given that Valhalla was released just before the launch of the new generation, which wasn’t really established yet. And since then, in three years, Ubisoft has released a few major games on these platforms. This doesn’t detract from the excellent results of the game from Ubisoft Bordeaux, which should celebrate this success.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series. If you’d like to find out more about the title, feel free to check out our complete review.
