Activision is warning PS4 owners with 500GB of capacity that they will need to “make room” for Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare/Warzone on their console.
In a post on the Call of Duty blog, the developers wrote:
« Those who own a standard PlayStation 4 with a default hard drive of 500 GB may need to make room if they have the full versions of Modern Warfare®/Warzone and Black Ops Cold War with all modes and packs installed.»
« Should you have both games installed and have kept up to date with updates, you may need to delete some unused Game Content to have a successful download and install of the Warzone patch.»
We already knew that Activision’s latest Call of Duty game takes up a lot of your storage space, but it seems that the latest versions extend beyond the basic capabilities of the PS4, as each update adds content. Without compression, you may have to use external storage.
The message notes that players can click R3 on the Black Ops Cold War main menu to uninstall “content you may not have played in a while”, the campaign or Zombie mode for example. It is possible to do the same thing with Modern Warfare or Warzone in the “General” tab of the options menu before clicking on “Games Installs”. Of course, you don’t need to download Warzone Season 2 updates if you only plan to play Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War.
It’s important to know that the new Outbreak mode, as well as the new operators, weapons, and maps, are arriving in the game with season 2. And it seems that the Zombies are also preparing to invade Warzone.
