EA and Respawn released a Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Update that upgrades the game for new-generation devices. Although it is not a “copy” for the new generation, as it does not add new features or technology, the update allows PS4 and Xbox One versions of Fallen Order to exploit the new generation’s more powerful hardware.
The new generation patch improves frame speed, dynamic resolution levels, and post-processing accuracy in the Fallen Order, although the changes depend on the hardware you’re running.
For the Xbox Series S version, the only change is the frame speed, which has been increased from 45 FPS to 60 FPS. On the Xbox Series X version, in Performance Mode, the frame speed is now up to 60 fps, and the dynamic resolution can range from 1080p to 1440p. In Normal mode, the post-processing resolution has been increased to 4K, and the dynamic resolution can range from 1512p to 2160p.
On the PlayStation 5, the frame speed was increased from 45 FPS to 60 FPS. Unlike the Xbox version, there are no “normal / performance” modes, instead, the post-processing resolution is set to 1440p, and the dynamic gradient is disabled in favor of a fixed display resolution of 1200P (the game previously ranged from 810p to 1080p). The update is now available, and will be applied to the Fallen Order game when you play the game again.
