Whether you want to know how to make money or how to loot your enemies or want some tips on where to put your XP points, we are here for you, and we will explain everything in detail. Read the guide below.
Exploration Tips
Be careful of the buttons you press around people in tight spaces. You may accidentally attack or catch someone, causing police intervention, and this may lead to your death.
If there’s something worth collecting, you’ll see a yellow sign above it from a long distance, so stay vigilant.
Look for blue markers on the map while exploring Night City, they are fast travel points. You’ll need to play a bit in campaign mode to get into it, but once you can, be sure to interact with the points to unlock them.
Do you want to earn a lot of money? Collect everything. This may slow you down a bit, but sometimes you’ll find some items that are worth more than $750, scrap also can be collected. Think of it as a piggy bank. Make sure you deliver scrap and items you don’t want to drop Points frequently. Drop Points (which you see below) come in either a large size like this or a booth with only the right section of the machine. But there is always the yellow one.
Look in both directions when crossing the street. Yeah, really… You can be run over by a car and you will be damaged.
Always use the scanner, especially in large rooms. so you can spot the items that you can collect, explosives, and other useful things.
Try to get used to holster your weapon, because sometimes just openly carrying a weapon is considered a threat, and you will not want to deal with the consequences. To do this you can go to the pause menu then Settings, then click on any button present on the right called “Control Scheme”.
What happens if you carry a lot of things and exceed the permissible weight? You will lose stamina and walk slowly. And you will get slower if you keep picking up things!
If you need some fast storage, contact your car (if you can) and throw your stuff in the trunk’s stash!
Do you see a crate away with a rare item you don’t want to forget? You can mark it with your scanner, the same way you’d mark an enemy.
NCPD Scanner Hustles may need several steps to accomplish, (not all of them of course), but some will require you to take the information collected from one place to another nearby. If you feel that you have not received a significant payout after collecting evidence, it most likely means that there is another step in your journal.
If you see people having a conversation (you’ll see blue text above them) they may sometimes reveal interesting information about where you are. You may sometimes have something to say about their conversation as well.
There’s no such thing as “stealing” for V. Everything in Night City is yours. Take whatever you want! But you still have to pay the sellers, of course.
Combat Tips
Run! Jump! Do this frequently in open areas to increase your Athletics! Usually, the way you upgrade your Skill Progression for any perk is by using them. The more stealth you do, the higher skills you have with Stealth Perk. The more items you collect, the higher skills you have with Crafting Perk.
Play the additional tutorials, The goal is not to test how good you are by playing games, but the benefit here is that you get a free XP that will only cost you some time, and do not need any real resources!
Make sure to get rid of the boss enemies at the end of long missions, even if you are trying to pass quietly or avoid conflict, because they can make you earn a lot of money, in addition to unique elements.
Enemies, even non-boss enemies, can heal themselves! Make sure to notice your low opponents to make sure they don’t use Maxdoc while you’re not looking at them.
Enemies that leave loot when they die are marked with an X on your mini-map. Grey means common loot, green means uncommon, blue is rare, purple is epic, and yellow is legendary. You will see the loot mark when you look at the corpse changing color with the level of loot rarity as well.
When you find a weapon that you like, Don’t forget to take a look at it to apply attachments and mods! Some mods can even make your weapon “non-lethal”, meaning that even if you subdue your enemy you won’t really kill him. You may need this for gigs or side missions. But not all weapons have modifications or accessories.
You will see the progress level with experience points and money only after V exits the fight, meaning the mini-map no longer mentions “combat”.
Other Tips
You can fast-forward during a cinematic conversation by holding down the button shown at the bottom right of the screen.
Placing points in any of the Body or Tech skills will literally open doors for you, maps have some doors that only open after enough points of one or another. This makes investing in one of them beneficial, but investing in both of them can reduce returns (although it stays good in other ways).
When you open the Journal, some jobs will have a small image to the right of the job or job description. These are “linked” elements! Sometimes it can be a direct way to call someone, a map, or something else.
Did you accidentally throw a bomb in a public square? Did you upset the wrong person? Cyberpunk has an active autosave that usually runs before a confrontation. Rather than living with the consequences, use an autosave to get out of a sticky situation.
After a big shootout, don’t forget to grab the weapons of your fallen enemies (and even allies). Where you can sell them, you can also disassemble them in your inventory to get the components of common and Uncommon items. Which you may need for crafting and upgrades. You can also disassemble some consumables, clothes, and scrap. If you do not need money, choose the components instead.
If you level up in certain perks, you’ll get a perk point! You level up perks by simply using them. Be sure to take a look at the rewards for all the perks.
Even if you want to become an assassin with the highest levels of stealth, for example, make sure to look at the perk points in other categories and to place points in them too. You should especially consider putting a point into any perk that you elevate faster than other perks. It’s an early indicator of how you’re playing, and a little reinforcement of this early style of play can’t hurt.
Make sure to change your clothes. This is not to look good, but to earn some easy armor points. Each piece of clothing has a shield rating, and as they say, a good defense is the best attack…
Keep in mind some clothing/armor have mod slots too for some extra oomph. However, once they’re applied they cannot be recovered and will be destroyed if you replace them.
You’ll get new clothing options at vendors as you get higher Street Cred. You’ll find more clothing options as you move into different districts too.
If you want to equip a melee weapon from your inventory, select a slot you want to fill or replace. Then, just above the ranged weapons, click the knife next to the blue ranged weapons icon to see what ranged weapons you have with you.
Yellow conversation options will push the conversation forward. If they are multiple, it means it’s a choice. The effect of this choice varies depending on the situation. Some of them only affect that moment, others will affect the entire side tasks or the main one. Blue options offer you more information. This will sometimes lead to new options, you won’t lose anything from getting new information, so don’t hesitate to explore your options.
Don’t forget to upgrade V’s operating system! You’re better off saving up for a rare OS, but once you can afford it, make sure you purchase one for new benefits like a bigger Buffer for hacking. This is essential if you’re playing as a Netrunner. You’ll be able to increase your Base Ram too! Tip: There is a good Rare one called Biodyne MK.2 at the Ripper doc on Watson’s Northside for $15,000. It’s a lot, but it means more hacking and a bigger buffer.
