After Star Wars Jedi Survivor has been removed from March’s schedule due to its postponement for a few weeks, Resident Evil 4 Remake will be the major release for March. This highly anticipated remake is currently the main topic of Game Informer, which recently decided to cover this episode in its next edition after getting the chance to test the game. Therefore, the magazine is able to reveal some new details about this remake, which appears to be much more ambitious than Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 remakes.

A few improvements for a more modern experience

First of all, we can see a couple more seconds of gameplay in a new video based on the magazine’s coverage, with Leon fighting under the rain which is clearly a key element in the game.

Several more details are revealed at the same time ( reported by IGN), including the fact that Ashley will no longer have a life bar, but it doesn’t necessarily make her invincible. If she gets over-hit, she will be sort of stunned, and you will have to rescue her before she gets hit again ( leading to her death).

Another thing we understand is that Leon’s knives have a durability system and may break while using them. This mechanism may not be appreciated by all the players, but it is intended to enhance the game’s survival aspect.

The good news is that QTEs have nearly vanished. Capcom doesn’t claim that there will be no QTE forms at all, but these elements will be less apparent and relevant in the new remake, particularly in the cutscenes. And the final detail is the inclusion of additional side quests, providing more new challenging puzzles.

Resident Evil 4 Remake will be released on March 24, 2023, on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series.
