gran turismo 7 release date

On June 11 2020, Sony and Polyphony Digital announced Gran Turismo 7 on PS5. In November, the studio reported that the title would be available in the first quarter of 2021, which will eventually not be the case.

Indeed, Gran Turismo 7 has been officially postponed to 2022, with no further details at this time. The information was released by GQ in a long interview with Jim Ryan, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s president. In response to a question about the car simulation, a public relations representative from Sony stated :

GT7 has been impacted by Covid-related production challenges and therefore will shift from 2021 to 2022. With the ongoing pandemic, it’s a dynamic and changing situation and some critical aspects of game production have been slowed over the past several months. We’ll share more specifics on GT7’s release date when available.

It is not surprising that other games have also experienced delays, but only Gran Turismo 7 is directly named. Should we expect a postponement of Horizon: Forbidden West or God of War: Ragnarok? Only the coming months will allow us to find out more. As a reminder, Gran Turismo 7 was expected before the end of March.
