Last month Activision released Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War which topped the UK sales list, its digital sales also set a new record and the company seems happy with what the series and its games overall are achieving in 2020.
Today, through an official statement, we learned that this is a special year for Warzone games and Call of duty in general, with Warzone attracting 85 million players so far and the series overall selling 3 billion dollars and more this year.
We also learned that this year 200 million players played Call of Duty games and Activision says that the credit for this large number of players goes back to the value the company provided to the COD games players including free-to-play games like Warzone and COD mobile that enabled them to reach a new audience alongside games like Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.
Activision also said it expects more warzone players when it merges with Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the company said that net sales this year increased more than 80% while the number of units sold increased more than 40% compared to last year.
